What's that white stuff falling from the sky?

The gals were fascinated by the snow that was falling and accumulating on the window sills and screens. I brought some snow inside for them, but, they wouldn't have any part of it.

To the Poor House!

The Poor House.
That's where these two angels are driving us. I just realized that between the two of them, they've cost us a little over $1,000 in vet and meds bills since we took them in from Bide a Wee 7 months ago. Hmmmm.

Poor things. Both may be suffering from some viral thing causing problems with their eyes (Coco has shmoots coming out of one eye all the time and Tigger had one eye closed for a few days). This will be the 3rd time that Tigger is on antbiotics since she came to live with us In fact, Bide a Wee sent us home with antibiotics when we adopted them.

For Tigger, it gets worse, though. The vet detected some out-of-whack liver enzyme in her blood tests 3 months ago. A follow up visite this weekend shows some change for the worse. She's now being treated for that as well - I think to keep her from getting hepatitis.

Catnip Cat

What happens when you leave a full (sealed) bag of catnip overnight on a coffee table in a house with a monster cat that has sharp claws and teeth?

You wake up to one very crazed cat covered in catnip - and with catnip all over the apartment - floors, window sills, chairs.... everywhere!!!

Queen of the Box

Who's Queen of the Box - she who sits inside, or she who sits guard on top?

More Sunday Times

There's just no keeping these gals away from the New York Times. There's something that they just love - whether it's the paper itelf or the ink or just the fact that they can crawl under and create a dark hideout.

On the prowl...

You just know something's up when the two of them are sitting and staring at something that they wouldn't ordinarily be staring at. In this case, they've been sitting for about 15 minutes, focusing on the same spot, at the bottom of the livingroom wall unit. I'm sure they spotted a bug and are waiting for it to come out again. This was about an hour after I spotted a very, very fast moving centipede in the bedroom. I'm sure it could have made it to the livingroom by now, but, my guess is they found another one. I'm convinced the one in the bedroom is waiting to attack me while I sleep tonight.

How's the air back there?

Poor Coco must be thinking, "I hope Tigger didn't eat the Fancy Feast Bean Dip for dinner."

The more I see these two in this position, the more I wonder which came first... the chicken or the egg - OR- how'd they get in this position, anyway? Do you think Tigger backed into Coco and wrapped her hind legs around Coco's neck? Or, did Coco crawl between Tigger's hind legs and then somehow get her own rear end underneath Tigger's. I can't figure this one out.

The Sunday NY TImes

[Click photo to enlarge]

[Click photo to enlarge]

Reading the Sunday New York Times will never be the same with these gals around! OK, I admit it - I'm one of those strange types who likes to spread out on the livingroom floor on Sunday mornings and read the NY Times at a leisurely pace. That has now become impossible - but, who's complaining?

Tigger (the slut) seems to have some weird attraction to smell or feel of the ink or of the paper itself. She lies stretched out across the full width of the paper and rubs the side of her face against it. If I pet her while she's doing this, she must smell on my hand whatever it is about the newspaper that drives her wild, and she goes crazy licking my fingers.

Coco is no better - I think she's crazy for the same smell/feel of the ink/paper or whatever. Only she shows her affinity in a different manner - she dives under the newspaper and tries to remain completely covered by it.... you may recall similar behavior after her surgery, when we needed to use newspaper instead of litter in the litterbox.

Hugs & Hisses

[Click photo to enlarge]

Hmmmmmm. They were licking each other, then a few seconds later there was hissing. When I looked back at them, I saw Tigger's paws around Coco's neck. Was wondering, at first, if this was a hug or an attempted strangulation;-)

Caught Ya!

[Click photo to enlarge]

Unlike Spooky Velvet, a former feline resident here, Coco doesn't seem to be obsessed with plants. However, I did catch her showing a bit of interest here (until she heard me approaching).
